FEES FOR VOLUNTEERING
The participation in the volunteer program is free, but participants will have to pay a minimum to cover expenses for their food and lodging. Most programs that receive you have no financing to cover the expenses that a volunteer generates.If the project is located outside Cusco, bus transportation (return trip) is included.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO BE A VOLUNTEER?
The participation in the volunteer program is free, but participants will have to pay a minimum to cover expenses for their food and lodging. Most programs that receive you have no financing to cover the expenses that a volunteer generates.
DO I NEED A PASSPORT AND A VISA?
Yes, you need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the beginning of your trip. Visa requirements depend on the country of origin. Please consult the Peruvian embassy of your country.
IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR THE APPLICATION?
Most people register months before they travel, but we also accept last minute registrations. For any further information please contact us.
DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?
We recommend that participants consult a physician before traveling in order to inform themselves about necessary vaccines and medications.
IS THERE A TRAVEL INSURANCE INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM?
The organization does NOT provide any insurance for travel and/or accidents. Each participant should decide about the coverage of her/his insurance.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMBINE PROJECTS OR PROGRAMS?
Yes, programs can be combined. All depends on the total of time that you have available.
CAN I BE A VOLUNTEER TOGETHER WITH A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?
Yes, we can arrange for you to work together and share the same lodging facility.
HOW ARE VOLUNTEERS SELECTED?
Upon reception of the application form filled in with the requested information, the organization will analyze and review it. Then we will check the availability of space as each program and/or project has a limited number. In case there is no space, we will offer you an alternative.
HOW DO I PAY THE PARTICIPATION COSTS?
You can make pre-payments to the indicated bank account and pay the rest directly in our main office in Cusco.
HOW MANY HOURS ARE TO BE SPENT WORKING?
We request an average of 6 hours per day, depending on the program and the duration of your stay. This can be from Monday to Saturday or Sunday.
IS THERE ANY TRAINING?
Upon arrival to the city you are going to be picked up at the airport, taken to the volunteers` house and you will receive all information and orientation necessary to make yourself familiar with the environment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF VOLUNTEERS FALL SICK?
Most participants do NOT experience any serious illness. The most common ailments are an upset stomach due to the change of food. The high elevation of Cusco at 3200 m above sea levelcan provoke headaches on the first day which is treated with the famous coca tea and resting. For a pleasant stay we recommend drinking bottled water and eating cooked food and bring some medication for stomach trouble. In the case that symptoms persist we will take you to a medical center. You travel insurance should include these cases.
CAN I STAY FOR LONGER THAN 3 WEEKS?
Yes, we can arrange a longer stay. Many have changed the date of their flight tickets in order to stay longer.
IF I DON´T SPEAK SPANISH VERY WELL, CAN I GET CLASSES BEFORE THE VOLUNTEERING?
Yes, you can have some weeks of accelerated Spanish classes, which depends on the total duration of you stay in the country.
