CUSCO CHILDREN PROGRAM
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
We work in defense of the rights and interests of the most needy and vulnerable children.
Our work is made possible thanks to all people, family members and friends, who since its beginning have collaborated to create a chain of support, with the belief that giving children the place they deserve is a task of everyone.
A temporary home welcomes children in a state of vulnerability in their family or in a situation of risk due to negligence or temporary or permanent incapacity of the family to meet their basic needs, which threatens their life and development.
With a capacity for 40 children, over half are from 0 to 30 months old. They are given integral care: home, food, education, medical and psychological assistance, security and affection.
By welcoming children from 0 to 17 years, we avoid that sibling groups are separated.
Our priority is to promote family reintegration, supporting the biological family. If this is not possible, the National Secretariat for Adoptions will look for a surrogate family.
Because of the need of a much greater attention than to children who were born in a noramal family environment, our goal is to offer individual, familiar and specialized treatment, adapting ourselves to the latest trends in residential care.
